I love to see the temple!

I went through our history and here is our pics of the construction of the Phoenix temple. It is cool to see the progress through pictures, also to see how big the kids have gotten in just the 2 years it was under construction! I'll post more about our experience soon!

Preparedness #3

We had a CRAZY storm blow through one day and, although our power only flickered, several in our area were with out power for 24-36 hours. How scary. We have a few flash lights, though who knows where they are at any given time, and if they have battery power left. So for Family Home Evening we decided to work on some light kits. I found the idea on pinterest (where else?!). Each jar has 3 candles and a box of matches, but the cool thing is that in each lid there is a piece of PVC pipe, that will act as a candle holder. Sorry, I should have taken a picture!

We made six, one for each room if we needed it for any long period of time. Fortunately, I found everything at the dollar tree, so the whole project cost less than $6. The kids had fun helping assemble them and they are hoping the power goes out soon!

Wild life world zoo

We realized that Sienna had never been to the zoo in her 4 1/2 years of life, so we decided we needed to change that.  Here we are in front of the Kangaroo's. (Chase is happy I promise). You get to go in their enclosure, it's pretty neat!
The sky-ride took you over the top of the zoo and back. It gave me a heart attack (I was afraid I was going to drop Sienna, and the boys were by themselves, so who knows what they could have done to each other), but the kids loved it.

The Wild Life World Zoo is super fun! You get to feed the giraffes (which they could have done all day)! There was so much to see that we didn't take a lot of pics. It was a good day for a "First trip" to the zoo.

It's chilly in here.

That's because we've gone Frozen... Disney's Frozen that is.   I took some before photo's but can't seem to find them on my phone. I did find about 100 selfies of the Missus and another 50 or so of our TV with Black Shelton and Gwen Stefani on The Voice. (Probably shouldn't let a 4 year old play with my phone!)

Imagine a blue room the same shade as Sprouts was. And imagine dolls, barbies, and their endless accessories all over the place. Yup that was her room.

Here is the after. She loves it!
EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. she asks me who the most beautiful princess on her wall is.  Her favorites are Bell, Snow White and Elsa.
Every girl has to have a million hair bows. Too bad she hates to wear them. Oh well.
I found this awesome shelf up in my attic. It's very narrow, so not a lot would fit up there. But I did fit some old dolls my mom and I made when I was a kid. I knew when I saw it, that it needed to be hot pink!
And I lost the battle. We have Frozen stickers everywhere. I guess I can't win them all. There are also some curtains that I just couldn't get a picture of with the sun behind them, but them look exactly like Elsa's cape. We had to have them!

Out in nature

I have been working out like a mad woman lately, I've been doing Beachbody's "21 day fix" and I'll share more on that later, but I decided to break out of my living room and enjoy some nature!

If you look right between the mountains you can see the new Phoenix temple. It will be dedicated in just 6 weeks! I can't wait to have a temple so close.

Now I'm heading home to enjoy a uplifting weekend of General Conference!

Good morning.

Look what greats me every morning when I open my bedroom window! The best part is these aren't the only ones. I have cream, pink, red and yellow. Note to self: learn how to care for roses!  Have a great day:)

The almost broken arm

We had a fun day with family watching my niece Lauren get baptized. Here we are sneaking some pics waiting for the program to start. They kids love their cousins.

We got together afterwards and had lunch and birthday cake for the birthday girl (whom I forgot to get a picture of. oops!)  While goofing off on the trampoline, Sprout got tackled and hurt his arm pretty good. About four hours later he was still complaining of pretty intense pain so we took him to urgent care. Why do these things always happen at night or on the weekends? Oh well.

They initially x-rayed his wrist, because that's where he said hurt the worst, but they looked clear. When the doctor evaluated him, and touched up near his elbow he about hit the roof. So they had us do more x-rays up near the elbow this time. This time they thought they saw a fracture, but it was hard to tell for sure, so they splinted him up real good and told us to see our doctor next week.

The kid is seriously milking it for all its worth, but I can tell that he really is in pain. We followed up with our pediatrician, who had a 3rd round of x-rays done, and they came back clear, so NO FRACTURE, which is great news. The urgent care doctor was talking about specialists and surgery and making my head spin!

We'll leave it splinted for a few more days, it's still pretty tender and is giving him the peace of mind that no one else can bump it.   Phew! Tragedy averted:)
